Aquaetic Potassium Permanganate Solution is effective against external fish infections from fungi, bacteria & parasites such as Trichodina, Costia, Chilodonella & Flukes. It assists with bacterial gill disease and skin ulcers.
Directions:
Treat before noon. Increase circulation & aeration. Mix well in a gallon pail of water and disperse evenly around the pond. Use protective gloves.
Caution:
STOP treatment if fish show signs of distress such as gasping or jumping. Neutralize if treatment remains active for 8 hours. Avoid overdosing.
How to Neutralize:
Use 3% Hydrogen Peroxide. Dose: 2 tbsp per 100 gallons (1 cup per 500 gal). Wait 4 days after neutralizing before treating again. Do not use with water conditioners, dechlorinators, formalin, or medications.
General:
Safe for most plants (except hyacinths). Plant dip: 1 tsp per 5 gallons for 1 hour. May be harmful to snails and may stain porous materials.
Water Clarity Dose (2 ppm):
1 oz per 375 gallons • 8 oz per 3000 gallons • Use half strength for maintenance.
Parasite & Bacterial Dose (4 ppm):
Double the 2 ppm dose. Repeat every 3–4 days if needed.
